Abeeral Thapa, the producer of the movie Bhuthan, which is set to release on Baisakh 12, 2082 (April 24, 2025), has released a song titled Thakkar through the YouTube channel Awaken Production. The song features vocals and music by popular Pokhara-based singer Binod Baniya.
The music video stars renowned Nepali silver screen actors Raj Ballav Koirala, Sita Devi Timilsina, Navin Neupane and Suzanne Singh Khadka. It has been directed by Siddharth Pudasaini, the director of the film Sano Sansar.
The music video was filmed while actor Raj Ballav Koirala was in Nepal during the screening of the movie Actor Take One. Singer Binod, lyricist Aviral, and actor Raj Ballav are long-time friends.
According to Thapa, the song aims to counteract the increasing despair, depression, conflicts, murders, and suicides in society. Through the medium of music, it seeks to inspire hope and courage, promoting mental well-being. Previously, Thapa has brought several songs to the market, including Aaudaichhu Ki Jadaichhu for the movie Sanghuro, Afnai Deshma Bas Saathi sung by Shishir Yogi, Yo Jharima Timisanga sung by Pramod Kharel, and Asha Ajhai Mareko Chain by Unity Band. He is also the producer of the acclaimed movie Bulbul.
With a sense of responsibility towards mental health awareness, this initiative has also received support from Kathmandu Metropolitan City and the Ministry of Health. Lyricist Thapa has urged individuals, organizations, and media outlets to help promote the song through social media and other platforms. The song is available on YouTube and all major audio streaming platforms worldwide.
