The production team of the film Abhimanyu: Chapter–1 has launched a 100-day countdown with the release of its poster.
According to the poster, only 99 days remain until the film’s release. Abhimanyu is scheduled to hit theaters on September 12 (Bhadra 27).
The poster is set against a backdrop of Nepal’s southern plains (Terai), featuring a rice field and a nearby banana grove. In the field, a young man is seen walking a little girl in a government school uniform, books and notebooks clutched in their hands. Both characters are portrayed as members of the Madhesi community. However, the production team has not revealed any details about the storyline.
The film is currently in post-production and features performances by Sarita Giri, Gaumaya Gurung, Laxmi Bardewa, Shishir Wangel, Kiran Shrestha, Prakash Dahal, Kameshwor Chaurasiya, and Sushma Niraula in lead roles.
The thematic poster hints at a story involving a conflict between material greed and a metaphorical “chakravyuh” (labyrinth), where a character lured by money finds themselves trapped and struggling to escape.
Presented by Seven Seas Cinema, Abhimanyu: Chapter–1 marks the directorial debut of Sushant Gautam. The film is written by Mukesh Khanal, with Madan Thapa—who previously directed Bato: Road to Death—serving as the creative director.
Producers of the film include Binod Poudel and Gunjan Giri, with co-producers Ramesh Chaulagai and Hari Shrestha. Executive producers are Bishal Lama, Hari Moktan, Krishna Bhattarai, Nirajan Luintel, and Sandesh Shrestha.
Other key team members include line producer Jeevan Shakya, chief assistant director Akash Ukheda, editor Madan Ghimire, and production controller Saroj Shrestha. Sharad Mahato is the film’s director of photography.
The film will be released worldwide simultaneously in both Nepali and Hindi languages.
