With a unique storyline, world-class visual effects, and powerful action, the Nepali film Mahakabya is being prepared for production. Under the banner of Khushi Films, the film is currently in the fast-paced pre-production stage, according to the production team.

The film will be directed by Madan Khadka, who has previously directed several popular music videos. Mahakabya will mark his debut as a film director. Shukraraj Shah will serve as the action director. A theme poster of the film has been released, featuring a dramatic clash between two volcanic bears — a visual that hints at something bold and new. “Who will be the voice to write the epic?” the teaser asks. The main cast of the film has not yet been revealed.

Mahakabya aims to offer viewers a breathtaking cinematic experience. Combining elements of historical, mythological, and modern fantasy, the film is expected to mark the beginning of a new era in Nepali film history.

A new actor will be introduced in the lead role. According to the production team, the actor has undergone physical transformation and received intensive training in both action and dance. He is currently in the final stages of preparation. Filming is scheduled to begin in Bhadra (late August/early September). Produced by Shanti Magar, Mahakabya seeks to revive Nepali mythology through the power of storytelling — blending Lord Shiva’s divine strength, a unique love story, and a mysterious adventure. The film also aspires to present the richness of Nepali culture, myths, and sacred sites through immersive visual storytelling.
