Shivani Wins the Title of 6th SEE Dance Championship

Shivani Thapa Magar has emerged as the winner of the national dance competition 6th SEE Dance Championship 2082, held among students who appeared for this year’s SEE examinations.

Organized by Bajrayogini Dance and Music Academy in Kapan, Kathmandu, Shivani bagged the SEE Dance Championship trophy, a medal, a cash prize of NPR 100,000, and a full scholarship for Grades 11 and 12.

The grand finale was held on Saturday evening at Rastriya Nachghar, where 20 finalists performed on stage. Among them, Shivani secured first place.
Similarly, Agria Singh came in second, receiving NPR 50,000 along with a Plus-Two scholarship, while Govinda Gurung ‘Kusum’ won third place, earning NPR 30,000, a full scholarship, and a trophy and medal.

The judging panel included choreographers Gambhir Bishta, Prince Shrestha, Narayan Rijal, Rohiya Maharjan, and Shanti Kathayat.

Based on their scores, all participants who ranked in the top 10 received full scholarships for Plus-Two studies from various colleges, including Manaslu College.

Tenzing Palzor Lama received a consolation award along with a full scholarship, while Prashika Adhikari won the Public Choice Award and was also awarded a trophy, medal, and scholarship.
Gautam Khadka received the “Best Skill Award” and a full scholarship as well.

Avinash Hamal, choreographer of winner Shivani Thapa Magar, was awarded the title of “Best Choreographer.”

The event was inaugurated by the Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Badri Prasad Pandey, who extended his best wishes to all the winners.
Organizer Mahesh Godar stated that the competition aimed to promote the message of balancing dance and education.

Veteran singer Narayan Rayamajhi and dance expert Ram Chandra (RC) Koirala, among others, were honored at the ceremony for their contributions to Nepali music and dance.
