The shooting of the item song for the film Pratibairam, directed by Roshan Das, has been completed.
Based on a story set in the Madhesh region, the song was filmed over two days on a grand set at the Film Development Board.
According to choreographer Suren Basel, actress Priyanka Karki is featured in the item number.
It is reported that the producers spent a significant amount of money to feature Priyanka in this item song. Sources claim that she was paid a fee of NPR 200,000 (2 lakhs).
Whether the amount spent on Priyanka will prove beneficial for the film remains to be seen after the song is released.
Meanwhile, director Roshan Das has claimed that the film will depict the true beauty of Madhesh.
“Most films made about Madhesh fail to showcase its real beauty or address its deep-rooted issues. Through Pratibairam, we have attempted to bridge that gap,” Das said.
According to him, the film revolves around socio-political themes focused on Madhesh, along with an emotional story of a brother and sister.
The film is presented by Rage Entertainment in collaboration with Kings YT Studio and Shreeyan Entertainment. The story is written by director Das himself, while the screenplay is penned by Yuvraj Bhattarai.
The main cast includes Samrat Das, Priyanka Karki, Ramesh Budhathoki, Navin Shrestha, Alisha Bastola, Birendra Kushwaha, Supragya Sharma, Roshan, Narayan Bik, Roni Yadav, Kamal Sunar, Geeta Shree, and Agni Subedi.
The item song features music by Manish Adhikari, lyrics by Roshan Das, vocals by Ritika Shrestha, and cinematography by Nitesh Ghatan.
According to director Das, more than half of the film has already been shot, and the remaining portions will be filmed after the monsoon.
