The first look video of the Nepali sci-fi film Eklo has been released. Shared via OSR Digital’s official YouTube channel, the video reveals the appearances of all major characters in the film.
Eklo had earlier marked its international presence by showcasing a stall at the renowned Cannes Film Festival. Since then, buzz around the film has grown significantly, with increasing curiosity from audiences regarding its teaser and promotional materials.
The film is directed by Pradeep Shahi, who has previously directed two films. Currently residing in the UK, Shahi is developing Eklo with Hollywood-level technology and presentation. According to the production team, post-production is underway in London, and the film is scheduled for release around Christmas (in the Nepali month of Poush).
The cast includes Pradeep Khadka, Vijay Lama, Sunil Thapa, Diya Pun, Benisha Hamal, Dinesh DC, Kavita Nepali, Suraj Singh Thakuri, Avon Raj Upreti, Trichu Rai, Krishnabhakta Maharjan, Bikash Adhikari, Diggaj Khatri, Binod Subedi ‘Kshitiz’, Shrishes Shrestha, child actors Jemin Shrestha and Syon Sabik Singh, as well as British actor Jamie Bacon.
Producers of the film include Rajukumar Gurung, Hari Shrestha, Bishnu Tamang, Utsav Bista, Bhairaja Thapa, Navin Siva, Bagbir Pun, Bhuvan Adhikari, Sangeeta Wadi Shrestha, Ritesh Rana, Sushil Prajapati, and Shashikala Gurung. Binod Subedi ‘Kshitiz’ serves as the executive producer.
The cinematography is handled by Babu Shrestha. Raju Tamang directed the action sequences, with Raju Painter handling set design, Santosh Lama leading art direction, and Dron Prasad Paudel ‘Theuke’ in charge of production design.
Eklo is seen as a bold and serious attempt to present a high-quality science fiction film within the Nepali film industry.
