The feature film Chitthi, written and directed by Madhav Raj Kharel, is set to release on Bhadra 20 (September 5). Produced under the banner of Era Production, the film is backed by media professional Kamala Joshi and will be distributed by Kuber Cine Distribution.
A special screening was held recently in Kathmandu, and the positive feedback and love from the audience have energized the production team. The two-hour-long film Chitthi is a complete blend of horror, comedy, suspense, and thriller. The Censor Board has granted it a PG certificate, meaning children under 16 can watch the film when accompanied by a guardian.
The film features Khag Bahadur Pun Magar ‘Khabapu’, Sanjit Bhandari, Gopal Dhakal ‘Chhande’, Navaraj Thapa, Prabwan Bhusal, Muskan Lama, Kanchan Chalise, and Namrata Kharel in lead roles. Supporting cast includes Mohan Niraula, Shantipriya, Shridev Bhattarai, Rashmi Bhatt, Uddhav Bhattarai, Krishna Bhattarai, Devil Singh Rajput, Rajan Thapa, Purushottam Sanu, Muna Niraula, and Kavindra Tripathi among others.
The film’s music is composed by journalist Saroj Koirala, with lyrics by Dr. Krishnahari Baral and Kamala Joshi. The songs have been sung by Shiva Pariyar, Benisha Paudel, and Basanta Aryal. The Shiva Tandav track, composed by Rajendra Bajgai, is said to be a major highlight that adds a unique dimension to the film, according to director Kharel.
Cinematography for the film is handled by Jeevan Parajuli and Rajan Kharel, editing by Rajesh Kumar, graphics and VFX by Samir Miya, action direction by Kiran Dahal, background score by Pushkar Khatri, sound mixing by Manoj Pariyar, and 5.1 sound design by Amit Shrestha.
The songs, trailer, and official posters of the film will be released soon, according to the production team. Promotional content for the film has been designed by Amrit Chapagain and Sahil Khan.
