The sequel to blockbuster Jari, Jari–2, has announced its release date along with three official posters. According to the released posters, the film will hit theaters on Asoj 3.
Among the three posters released today, the first features all the lead actors of the film, while the remaining two highlight only the main characters Dayahang Rai and Miruna Magar. In both posters, the duo appears in joyful moods—one shows Daya cheerfully playing the chyabrung drum, and the other captures Miruna smiling freely in traditional Limbu attire.
Titled Jari–2: Song of Chyabrung, another poster presents Daya and Miruna posing with cheerful expressions for the camera.
Similarly, the first poster of the film—written and directed by Upendra Subba, who transitioned from poet to screenwriter and filmmaker—also includes Buddhi Tamang and Vijay Baral alongside Daya and Miruna. Additionally, the poster depicts a young girl and Miruna leading the way, while Dayahang follows behind leaning on a walking stick, accompanied by porters carrying khoselis (bamboo baskets).
These three posters suggest that the film will narrate a story revolving around ‘Chyabrung’, a vital part of Limbu community and culture.
Though seemingly simple, the posters offer a glimpse into what promises to be an extraordinary story on screen.
Along with Daya, Miruna, Vijay, and Buddhi, the film also stars Richa Sharma, Pushkar Gurung, Prem Subba, Mao Tse Gurung, Manahang Lawati, Bishnu Moktan, Kamalmani Nepal, Anil Subba, Rekha Limbu, Bedana Rai, and Sirjana Ninglekhu.
Produced under the banner of Baasuri Films and Kabaddi Films, the film’s producer is the successful director Rambabu Gurung.
Jari was a blockbuster in the year 2080. That year, the film grossed over NPR 170 million at the Nepali box office. For this reason, Jari–2 has been on the list of most-anticipated films since its announcement. The film is expected to maintain the strong commercial legacy of its predecessor.
