Singer Jhuma Limbu and The Raithane Band are set to organize the “Raithane Ghumfir Concert 2082” in collaboration with the upcoming film Jari 2, which will be released on Asoj 3. The concert will begin on Bhadra 21 at the LOD Club in Thamel, Kathmandu, where the Jari 2 team, currently preparing for its release, will also present a Chyabrung dance performance.
In the Raithane Ghumfir tour, Jhuma will perform in 10 different cities across Nepal, featuring solo performances with her band. In addition, each concert venue will highlight and prioritize the local art, culture, and music, according to Limbu.
The aim of this musical journey is to promote cultural identity. The performances, held in various towns and villages, will focus on traditional folk music and dance such as Hakpare, Palam, Chyabrung, Ghaatu, Sorathi, Deuda, and Maruni.
“Folk music is not just a medium of entertainment but also a reflection of Nepal’s unique cultural lifestyle, history, and communal unity,” Limbu said. “We hope this journey will pass down culture and music to the younger generation. ‘Raithane Ghumfir’ will stand as a bridge connecting the music and culture of villages and cities,” she added.
This year, Raithane Ghumfir will be held only within Nepal, but Limbu has plans to take it abroad next year. Each performance will celebrate diversity by honoring local artists, instruments, and cultural practices. Other programs under ‘Raithane Ghumfir’ will be gradually announced.
