Two days ago at Tundikhel, Kathmandu, during the announcement program of the Nepali film Kumari, the song “Kaha Chhau” was performed live and made public.
Now, the song has officially been released online. For the film’s announcement, the song was presented live by the band Keher and the Lunga. This track is one of the major songs from Kumari and has been released digitally through Kendra Motion Pictures, the film’s digital distributor.
The playback singing debut in this film comes from vocalist Keher Singh Limbu, who is also the lead singer of the band. Lyrics and music for the song are by his band members. The video of the track also includes highlights from the film’s announcement event, such as the poster unveiling and cast introduction.
Director Dinesh Raut, who previously directed popular romantic films such as I Am Sorry, November Rain, and Classic, and more recently, socially-driven films like Parva, Prasad, Prakash, and Pujar Sarki, is directing Kumari. Shooting for the film is scheduled to begin Tuesday. Kumari is a love story featuring Abhishek Khadka and Aakriti Rajbhandari in lead roles, both making their debut as main actors. The cast also includes Ghanshyam Joshi, Sunita Shrestha, Akanksha Karki, Madhu Khadka, Sanam Shrestha, Saku Shah, Saroj Lamichhane, Manisha Sharma, Bhupi Luhar, among others.
Kumari is being produced under the banner of Binish Entertainment, with Picture Frame as co-producer. The producers are Mahendra Adhikari, writer Bikash Subedi, and cinematographer Sushan Prajapati.
The film will feature four songs in total. Along with Keher and the Lunga, composer Prashant Siwakoti will also contribute music, while lyrics have been written by Sagar Lamichhane Magar, Suman Tamang, and Yuvraj Kafle.
The film is targeted for release within this year. Kendra Motion Pictures is the digital distributor, with DCN handling distribution inside the Kathmandu Valley and Kuber Cine Distribution managing distribution outside the Valley.
