The film Maitighar is set to release on Phulpati, Ashoj 13. It has already been listed among the potential strong performers at the box office this year. At present, the film is leaving no stone unturned in its promotional campaign.
The movie features Dhiraj Magar, Prakash Saput, and Upasana Singh Thakuri in lead roles. Alongside them, actor Kedar Ghimire, popularly known as Magne Budha, who recently drew significant audience attention through Magne Raja, also plays a pivotal role in this project.
Judging from the promotional materials, Ghimire once again appears on screen in the trademark persona of Magne Budha—a style that has defined his popularity. In fact, he has portrayed this character type in nearly all of his films. Naturally, this raises the question: Why is the same character archetype being repeated time and again?
In response, Ghimire stated that he is simply waiting for a filmmaker willing to break him out of this mold.
“In truth, I want to do something different. But producers must also be ready to invest in that, right?” he explained. “Whatever they buy, I simply deliver. I am not an exceptionally skilled actor—just an ordinary one. Whatever I know, they keep purchasing, and frankly, that is what I keep selling.”
He further emphasized that if trusted, he is ready to move beyond the ongoing stereotype. Now, the real question is: Which courageous filmmaker will dare to push ‘Magne Budha’ into something truly different in the days ahead?
