The trailer of the upcoming Nepali film Baristha Balaram has been released, showcasing an intense conflict between the two lead characters played by Dayahang Rai and Bijay Baral.

The trailer revolves around a clash that begins when Bijay’s character sets his eyes on a river area already controlled by Dayahang, who runs a sand and gravel contracting business.

Feeling oppressed due to his poor background, Bijay’s character stands against Dayahang, who cannot tolerate interference in his domain. The tension between the two escalates, forming the core of the trailer.

The visuals show Dayahang walking confidently with his group of men, while Bijay is shown in love with a young woman, played by Samriddhi Aryal.

The trailer also depicts Bijay’s desire to transform his social identity and Dayahang’s stubborn attempt to maintain his dominance. The metaphor of “owning the river” — with Dayahang enjoying control and Bijay striving to experience the same power — is effectively portrayed.

The conflict between the one trying to rise and the one trying to remain on top appears gripping throughout the trailer. Dayahang plays the role of the “Baristha” (the senior), while Bijay portrays Balaram.

Baristha Balaram is set to release on Kartik 6, coinciding with the festival of Bhai Tika. The film is directed by Surendra Paudel.

The cast includes Dayahang Rai, Bijay Baral, Samriddhi Aryal, Pashupati Rai, Maotse Gurung, Bhola Raj Sapkota, Rambabu Regmi, and Pradeep Kumar Chaudhary (PK).

The film’s story and editing are by director Paudel himself, with the screenplay written by Mahesh Dawadi.

Produced under the banner of Vrishabh Siddhi Entertainment in collaboration with Aanvi Films, the film is produced by Ashish H. Tamang and Shriraj Karki, with Pradeep G. Dhami and Pushkar B. Ghimire as executive producers, and Ram Bista as the line producer.

Cinematography is handled by Man Krishna Maharjan, with Prashant Shiwakoti providing the music, Samrat Basnet directing the action, and Pradeep Lama choreographing the dances.

The film will be distributed by DCN inside the Kathmandu Valley and Kuber Cine Distribution outside the valley.
