The team of the upcoming Nepali film ‘Harsha’, set for nationwide release on December 27 (Mangsir 12), has arrived in Chitwan for promotional events.
Since director Ekta Paudel hails from Chitwan, she has been actively engaging in promotions by visiting local schools, colleges, fairs, and festivals.
The team organized a press meet in Chitwan this morning, followed by an interaction session with students at Glorious Academy School. Later today, they will also visit the “Sports and Grand Trade Fair 2082” to meet audiences directly.
Director Ekta Paudel, along with actors Barsha Raut, Santosh Pant, child actor Simon Wadi, and choreographer Sunil Chhetri, is participating in the promotional activities.
During the press meet, debut director Ekta Paudel expressed her belief that ‘Harsha’ will receive strong support from the people of Chitwan.
“I have worked very hard on this film, and I hope to receive everyone’s love and support,” she said. Lead actress Barsha Raut shared that Harsha is a family-oriented drama and is likely to be loved by all age groups.
Actor Santosh Pant urged audiences to watch the film, praising the dedication and effort of a female director in creating a beautiful project.
Choreographer Sunil Chhetri mentioned that the film has turned out well and that he is in Chitwan to deliver a special performance at the festival.
Entirely filmed in Chitwan, ‘Harsha’ marks the directorial debut of Ekta Paudel, niece of late filmmaker Shiv Regmi. A graduate of film studies from the New York Film Academy, she also holds degrees in Mass Communication and in Management & Leadership. She has previously made several short films.
The film stars Khagendra Lamichhane and Barsha Raut, along with Nir Shah, Santosh Pant, Sharmila Malla, Maotse Gurung, Bishal Pahadi, Nima Pandey, Luniva Tuladhar, Anshu Maharjan, Renu Pradhan, Suvarna Thapa, Shrishti Maharjan, Sirjana Napit, and child actor Simon Wadi.
The film features cinematography by Alok Shukla, music by Sameer–Himal, Basanta Sapkota, and Alish Karki, editing by Lokesh Bajracharya, and choreography by Sunil Chhetri and director Paudel.
Produced under the banners Ashtalakshmi Productions and E-Prime Movies, the story of ‘Harsha’ is written by director Paudel herself. Prasanna Paudel and Bikash Paudel serve as producers, with Hikmat Chokhal as the executive producer. Ishwar Ghimire is the production manager, and Kuldeep Sharma is the chief assistant director.
