Dalit Commission Extends Best Wishes to ‘Maan Binako Dhan’ as Film Enters Its Third Week Nationwide

“Maan Binako Dhan,” which enters its third week in cinemas nationwide from today, has received formal best wishes from the National Dalit Commission. In a statement issued on Wednesday, Commission Chair Devraj Bishwakarma thanked the filmmakers and praised the movie for delivering a positive message against caste-based discrimination.

The film, featuring popular child singer Ashok Darji in the lead role, highlights entrenched social issues such as casteism and untouchability. The Commission noted that the movie effectively portrays themes of teacher–student relationships, family values and a sense of duty.

The statement further commended director and producer Tank Budhathoki and his team for contributing to the broader campaign for a caste–discrimination–free society.

The film is running successfully in Nepal as well as in Qatar, the UAE and Bahrain. Scheduled to release in Australia on November 29, it has earned more than Rs 30 million within 13 days at the Nepali box office. Screenings in Saudi Arabia, South Korea and other countries are also being planned.

Videos of emotional audiences embracing lead actor Ashok Darji during promotional tours have gone viral on social media. In Sarlahi, actors Ashok Darji and Ramesh Bishwakarma were welcomed with traditional panche baja music before being escorted to the cinema hall.

The film features an ensemble cast including Ashok Darji, Saroj Khanal, Santosh Pant, Rama Thapaliya, Nita Dhungana, Bhola Sapkota, Buddhi Tamang, Ramesh Bishwakarma, Rabindra Jha, Parbati Adhikari, Utsav Sapkota, A.R. Budhathoki, Shankar Shrestha, Samragyee Thapa, Bina Raut, Babu Parajuli, Raksha Shrestha, Priyanka Jha, Vinay Adhikari, Aryan Pokharel and Bijaya Dangol.

“Man Binako Dhan” is written, directed and produced by Tank Budhathoki. The screenplay and dialogue are by Shivam Adhikari. The film is presented by Tank Budhathoki Production, produced by Bishnu Maya Mainali, with Minu Sharma (Sapanā) as executive producer and G.P. Sangrola, Bibek Nepal and Bijaya Pande as co-producers. Tikaram Budhathoki serves as the creative director.
