The film “Abhimanyu: Chapter 1,” which received remarkable show counts in the foreign market, has entered its second week in the domestic market from today. Although released last Thursday, the film has struggled to secure enough shows in its second week.

Despite the limited showtimes, the occupancy of available screenings remains strong. However, audiences from various places have expressed frustration on social media, tagging the film’s production team and complaining that they could not find showtimes to watch the movie.

Both public and critic reviews have been highly positive, creating strong demand among viewers. Yet the shortage of shows has left audiences disappointed.

According to the producers, “Even though the film has received good reviews and everyone is saying it is well-made, the lack of sufficient shows and audience turnout raises the question—why take risks with new kinds of work?”

Directed by Sushant Gautam, the film’s creative director is Madan Thapa, with writing by Mukesh Khanal. The cast includes Kameshwor Chaurasiya, Laxmi Bardewa, Kiran Shrestha, Sarita Giri, Gaumaya Gurung, and Shishir Bangdel in lead roles.

The producers are Binod Paudel and Gunjan Giri, with Ramesh Chaulagain and Hari Shrestha as co-producers. Executive producers include Bishal Lama, Hari Moktan, Krishna Bhattarai, Nirajan Luintel and Sandesh Shrestha. The line producer is Jivan Shakya.

The film’s technical team features Sharad Mahato as DOP, Manoj Shrestha for VFX, Junim Gahtoraj for color grading, and Madan Ghimire as editor.
