‘Gobar Ganesh’ Trailer Portrays a Village Youth’s Shattered Dreams in Kathmandu

Kathmandu — The trailer of the film ‘Gobar Ganesh’ has been released at a special event in Kathmandu.

The trailer depicts the harsh struggles faced by a village youth who moves to Kathmandu after failing in his studies. It highlights the stark contrast between the dreams imagined in the village and the harsh realities encountered in the city.

Through the story of a young man forced to collect garbage in an attempt to change his life, the trailer reflects Kathmandu’s unforgiving urban life and its impact on family dreams and relationships. Emotional moments, including a mother discovering her son’s painful reality in the city, underline the human cost of migration.

The trailer presents a representative story of many Nepali youths whose dreams crumble after confronting the realities of city life.

Earlier, the production team had released the film’s title song, sung by Marichman Shrestha.

Directed by Marichman Shrestha (Balchhi Dhurbe), ‘Gobar Ganesh’ is scheduled for release on Magh 1. The film features Balchhi Dhurbe, Barsha Shiwakoti, Binod Nyaupane, Padam Tamang, Nirmal Sharma, Laxminath Timilsina, Santosh Bania, Sandeep Lama, Mao Tse Gurung, Sita Devi Timilsina, Pujan Ghimire (Puku), Buddhi Tamang, Bishal Pahadi, Ramesh Budhathoki and Swastika Lamichhane, among others.

The film has Taranath Nyaupane as chief editor, Yogesh Kaji Shah on background score, Shankar Pandey as producer, Shivaraj Shrestha as director of photography, and Bipin Malla as editor. Towa Studio handled publicity design, OSR Digital is the digital partner, and Shree Backstage Entertainment will distribute the film in Nepal.
