Kathmandu — Theater artist and actor Narendra Sendang is set to produce a new film, ‘Matrubhumi’. The story and direction will be handled by Dinesh Lingden, with filming scheduled in Kathmandu and Panchthar (Nepal), as well as Texas and New York (USA). The shoot is expected to begin shortly after a traditional inaugural ceremony. Executive producer of the film is Kavita Rai Lingden.
Narendra himself will play the lead role, while the rest of the cast and technical crew will be announced soon. According to him, the film will explore themes of love for the homeland, patriotism, and the personal struggles of Nepalis living abroad for work or studies.
Born in Urlabari, Morang, Narendra currently resides in Texas, USA. Interested in dance and literature from a young age, he has also performed in street plays, theater, and Nepali films.
He has acted in over a dozen plays including ‘Kshitij Pariko Gaun’, ‘Andhyaro Basti’, and ‘Tumdang’, and won the Eastern Nepal first prize in a competition organized by the former Kalashree Pratisthan, Morang.
Narendra previously produced the film ‘Bagar’ featuring Rajesh Hamal, Srijana Basnet, Bipana Thapa, and Rohit Thebel. He has also acted as a lead in films such as ‘Timrai Ma Ho Ni’, ‘Bhedigoth’, ‘Payal’, and ‘Fake Friend’.
Additionally, he is the founding president of the Hong Kong Nepal Arts and Literature Association and Evergreen Multiple Arts and Culture, with nearly 300 literary works to his credit.
