Kathmandu — Nepali film “Kumari,” directed by Dinesh Raut, is set for nationwide release this Friday and has already generated strong pre-release momentum. The film’s popular song “Doko Bunne” has surpassed 10 million views on YouTube, signaling growing audience interest ahead of its theatrical debut.
The song features vocals by Kehar Singh Limbu, lyrics by Sagar Lamichhane Magar and Suman Tamang, and music composed by Suman along with Kehar and The Lunga Band. Previously released tracks such as “Kata Chhau Mero Phool” and “Timi Bina” have also received positive responses across digital platforms, strengthening the film’s musical appeal.
According to distributors, Kumari has secured around 200 shows nationwide for its opening day. The strong screen count has raised expectations of a solid box office opening. The film presents a blend of romance, human struggle, and family conflict, delivered in director Raut’s signature emotional storytelling style.
The film marks the lead debut of Abhishek Khadka and Aakriti Rajbhandari. Supporting cast members include Ghanshyam Joshi, Sunita Shrestha, Aakankshya Karki, Madhu Khadka, Sanam Shrestha, Saku Shah, Saroj Lamichhane, and Manasha Sharma.
Produced by Mahendra Adhikari under the banner of Binish Entertainment, the film features writing by Bikash Subedi, cinematography by Susan Prajapati, and editing by Suprim Parajuli. Kedar Bhusal serves as executive producer, while promotional designs were created by Royal Bhimsen.
Audience response from Friday onward will determine the film’s trajectory at the box office.
