Kathmandu: Actress Priyana Acharya (Munni) has entered the film ‘Karki Saila’, which is being directed by Rajendra Basnet. The production team has officially signed Acharya. Following her signing, the team has begun preparations for filming.
Priyana will now be seen opposite actor Jitu Nepal in the film. According to the production team, filming will take place in Dhankuta district of eastern Nepal.
Director Rajendra Basnet said, “According to our story, we will shoot in various locations of Dhankuta. As demanded by the story of ‘Karki Saila’, we have signed Priyana for the film. We will provide more details in the coming days.”
Apart from Jitu Nepal and Priyana Acharya, the film will feature performances by Sushil Pokharel, Birendra Singh Kushwaha, Manshi Sharma, Manil Tamang, Renuka Acharya, Dipson Limbu, Roda Rai, Kamal Devkota, and others.
When the film was initially announced, Barsha Siwakoti had been signed as the lead actress. However, due to various reasons, filming could not begin according to the predetermined schedule, and she withdrew from the project.
After that, the production team considered various alternatives, and eventually the proposal reached Barsha Raut. However, due to different reasons, she also could not be signed for the film.
Subsequently, the film is said to have landed in Munni’s lap.
Although the title appears male-oriented, there is discussion that the female lead has an equally strong parallel role in the film. This opportunity received by Priyana (Munni) is being viewed as a chance for her to establish herself as a leading actress. The film is expected to serve as a suitable platform to showcase her acting abilities.
Lead actor Jitu Nepal is also said to be equally optimistic about the film. It has been reported that he has been actively involved in ensuring there are no weaknesses in the script.
Munni was seen in a small role in ‘Laj Sharanam’. Her latest release is ‘Jharipachhiko Indreni’, and her film ‘Kalli’ is in the process of release.
The film is being produced under the banner of Karnabahadur Films Pvt. Ltd., with Balkumar Rai as producer. Presented by Krishna Bhagat Chamling, the film’s chief assistant director is Rozal Thapa, cinematography will be handled by Dambar Rai, action direction by Kiran Dahal, music by Dipson Limbu, and production management by C.B. Bhandari.
