Kathmandu: Sanisha Bhattarai has been officially signed as the lead actress for the upcoming Nepali dark comedy film Zero Degree, which is preparing to start filming. The production team selected her to portray the film’s central female character.
Following the release of the satirical song “Are Ho Neta Ji,” the cast lineup has become even stronger with Sanisha’s addition. Renowned actor Vijay Baral will play the main male role. It has not yet been revealed whether the on-screen pairing of Sanisha and Vijay will take center stage or appear in other roles.
The promotional song, sung by Vijay Baral and Ankit Babu Adhikari, with lyrics by Yubaraj Kafle, sharply satirizes superficial political and development practices.
Produced under the banner of Meghauli Films, Zero Degree is a dark comedy with a unique storyline. The plot revolves around the chaotic and humorous events that unfold when overseas-born children arrive at a remote village without internet connectivity, carrying a deceased body in a deep freezer to preserve it.
The film is co-directed and co-written by Aakash Baral and Sajan Kafle. Storyteller Rajan Bhusal will also act in the film, executive producer is Moti Karki, cinematography is by Nishal Paudel, and distribution will be handled by Kuber Cine Distribution.
