‘Mitjyu’ Wraps Shooting in a Month, Set for Release from May 28

Kathmandu. Nepali filmmaker Anil Budha Magar has completed the shooting of his upcoming film Mitjyu within a month. The filming began with a ceremonial inauguration on the occasion of Basanta Panchami at Ambikeshwari Temple in Dang.

Producer Janak Gharti Magar said the shoot was completed on schedule due to smooth coordination among the cast and technical crew. According to him, the film is based on a social narrative.

Shot across various locations in Dang and Rolpa, the film features performances by Dayahang Rai, Saugat Malla, Teriya Fauja Magar, along with Pushkar Gurung, Shishir Wangdel, Raj Thapa, Subarna Thapa, Anu Thapa, Smita Lamichhane, Arun Pun Magar, Uttam Raj Pandey, Sabin Kattel, Umesh Sonam, Pavitra Khadka, Chahana Rana Magar, Anusha Rai, and Khadga Bahadur Pun Magar (Khabpu). The film marks the acting debut of Teriya Magar.

Director Budha Magar described the shooting experience as energetic and enjoyable, crediting teamwork for completing the film in a short span. ‘Mitjyu’ is his second directorial venture, following the success of his earlier film Gharjwai.

The film’s production management is handled by Dhan Bahadur Rai (Bhanja), with Firoz Khadka as chief assistant director. The technical team includes production designer Kishor Nepal, costume designers Sangeeta Roka Magar and Pratiksha Bhat Chhetri, editor Lokesh Bajracharya, cinematographer Shishir Bishankhe, and workshop head Bholaraj Sapkota.

Action direction is by Prabhat Bisht, sound design by Naveen Shrestha, and music composed by Shrikrishna Bam Malla. Songs in the film feature vocals by Shrikrishna Bam Malla, Melina Rai, and Laxmi Malla. The film is scheduled for theatrical release starting May 28 (Jestha 15).
