The teaser of the upcoming film ‘Pahad’, directed by Tulsi Ghimire, has been released. The film is set to premiere on Baisakh 1, 2083, coinciding with the Nepali New Year.
According to director Ghimire, the film portrays youth migration from the hills and the resulting social and economic challenges. He stated, “The hills are beautiful, but recent migration has left them desolate. The film explores this reality.”
The film features actors Madhankrishna Shrestha (‘Balidan’), Shiva Shrestha (‘Chino’), and Sunil Thapa. Cinematography is by Pramod Pradhan, known for his work in films, web series, and telefilms in India.
Produced under Bhagyaratna Films Pvt. Ltd., the cast includes Bipin Karki, Sunil Thapa, Madhankrishna Shrestha, Renunath Yogi, Arun Chhetri, Ravindra Singh Baniya, and Uma Giri. Director Ghimire’s younger daughter Panchami Ghimire debuts as an actress, while elder daughter Bhavana Ghimire serves as production designer.
Music is composed by Ranjit Singh Gazmer, dance direction by Kabiraj Gahtara and Mingma D Lepcha, action direction by Kumar Maharjan, and editing by Shankar Koirala and Bharti Ghimire. Distribution in Nepal will be handled by Vaingkatesh Entertainment and in the diaspora by Seven Seas International Films.
