Film Journalists’ Association Nepal completes all branch conventions; central convention on April 5

Kathmandu — The Film Journalists’ Association Nepal has successfully completed conventions of 15 district branches and 8 foreign branches. The organization will hold its 10th central convention in Kathmandu on April 5.

According to President Samir Balami, the association now has branches across all provinces and districts, strengthening its national and international reach.

He said the organization’s activities are not limited to film journalism but also extend to arts, literature, music, theatre, and the broader entertainment sector.

A 17-member central committee will be elected for a three-year term during the upcoming convention.

New working committees have already been formed in several district branches including Koshi, Kaski, Parsa, Sunsari, Makwanpur, Morang, Chitwan, Ilam, Rupandehi, Kailali, Jhapa, Surkhet, Banke, and Dang.

The association has been conducting training programs, workshops, interactions, national gatherings, and welfare activities for its members. It also provides support to sick members and engages in policy discussions and institutional development.

The association claims it has played a significant role in the development of Nepal’s film industry through media advocacy and organizational activities.
