TikTok sensation Ayush Singh Thakuri is set to make his big-screen debut with the Nepali film ‘Ram Naam Satya’, written and directed by Michael Chand.
The film is scheduled for nationwide release on March 27 (Chaitra 27), and Ayush has been actively promoting it through media interactions ahead of the release.
Ayush said he was drawn to the project because of its storyline, adding that he received several offers but chose this film because it stood out to him.
He hinted that his role in the film will come as a surprise to the audience. He also shared a personal anecdote where even his family could not recognize his voice in a dialogue featured in the trailer.
With a large TikTok following, Ayush acknowledged the challenge of converting online popularity into theatre audiences. However, he noted strong support from Nepalis abroad who are reportedly buying tickets and booking shows for their relatives back home.
He also revealed that a sequel to the film is already being planned, encouraging viewers not to miss the first installment to understand the full story.
Produced by Upendra Shahi and Sweta Bimali, the film features an ensemble cast including Biraj Bhatt, Sushil Shrestha, Supushpa Bhatt, Divya Rayamajhi, Sunil Thapa, Prashant Tamrakar, and Khushi Karki.
Distributors expect a strong opening for the film, which is set for a solo release during the Nepali New Year period.
