Kathmandu — The teaser of the Nepali film Mitrjyu, set to release on Jestha 8, has sparked widespread discussion on social media following its release. The teaser was unveiled on Sunday via OSR YouTube.
In the teaser, Daya Hang Rai and Saugat Malla are seen living a rural life while driving vehicles for their livelihood. The two characters get into repeated conflicts over a girl, which eventually leads to the introduction of a traditional practice called “Mit” to resolve their rivalry.
The production team appears to center the film’s story around the fading cultural tradition of Miteri Saino (ritual friendship). The two-minute teaser hints at reviving this traditional social bond for a new generation.
The teaser also features scenes of the duo visiting an astrologer, where they become anxious after being warned about possible problems related to relationships with other women.
Alongside Daya Hang Rai and Saugat Malla, the teaser features Khapbu, Teriya Fauja Magar, Shishir Bangdel, and others.
Directed by Anil Budha Magar, the film stars Daya Hang Rai, Saugat Malla, Teriya Fauja Magar, along with Pushkar Gurung, Shishir Bangdel, Raj Thapa, Subarna Thapa, Anu Thapa, Smita Lamichhane, Arun Pun Magar, Uttam Raj Pandey, Sabin Kattel, Umesh Sonam, Pabitra Khadka, Chahana Rana Magar, Anusha Rai, Khadgabahadur Pun Magar (Khapbu), and others.
This film marks the acting debut of Teriya Fauja Magar.
Produced under the banner of GM Movies Production, the film is produced by Janak Gharti Magar. It has been edited by Lokesh Bajracharya and shot by Shishir Bishnke.
The chief assistant director is Firoz Khadka. The music is composed by Shri Krishna Bam Malla, while the songs are sung by Malla, Melina Rai, and Laxmi Malla.
The film is distributed by RR Films, and its digital rights have been acquired by OSR. The production team has expressed strong excitement for the film’s release.
