Actor Sushil Sitaula has officially joined the Nepali film Paanch Paandav, which is currently under production. He will portray one of the five central characters inspired by the Pandavas.
Presenter Naveen Shrestha confirmed that Sitaula has been signed for a key role, expressing confidence that the team has brought in a strong performer matching their expectations. Sitoula is set to share screen space with veteran actor Hari Bansha Acharya and other prominent cast members.
Earlier, versatile actor Prashant Tamrakar and content creator-model Eva Giri were also roped into the project.
Directed by Basanta Niraula and produced under the banner of Kali Rani Films, the film began shooting with a ceremonial launch in Kakarbhitta on Chaitra 2. The project brings together both veteran and new-generation actors from the Nepali film industry.
The main cast includes Hari Bansha Acharya, Jitu Nepal, Aryan Sigdel, Mahesh Tripathi, and Sushil Sitaula as the titular “five Pandavas.” Supporting roles will be played by Dipashree Niraula, Sarita Giri, Binod Neupane, and Rama Thapaliya.
Writer Sushil Poudel describes the film as a social drama that uses symbolic references to the Pandavas from the Mahabharata to reflect contemporary Nepali society.
Presenter Naveen Shrestha previously produced the film Laaj Sharanam. The film is produced by Kali Rani Shrestha.
Most of the shooting will take place in scenic locations across Jhapa, with additional schedules planned in other locations after the Jhapa shoot concludes, according to the director.
The film’s story, screenplay, and dialogue are written by Sushil Poudel, while cinematography is handled by Shyam Tamang.
