Director Laxman Subedi has announced his new film ‘Koti Koti Pranam’, officially launching the project on Tuesday on the occasion of the New Year.
Subedi, who received critical appreciation for last year’s film ‘Satidevi’, is preparing a new social drama.
Before the announcement, a Hanuman worship ceremony, collective recitation of 108 Hanuman Chalisa, and a ritual fire offering were performed at the Hanuman temple in Gaurighat, Kathmandu.
The title poster released along with the announcement features the name in saffron color with a religious flag motif, which initially suggests a spiritual theme. However, the director has clarified that the film is not religious.
According to him, the film is entirely based on a social storyline centered on family reunion.
He added that the film will address thought-provoking social issues.
Filming will begin in the first week of Bhadra in Surkhet district of Karnali Province. The cast and technical team are yet to be finalized, and casting is currently underway, featuring both new and experienced actors.
Produced under Dilasa Creation, the film will also feature Subedi’s own writing and songwriting contributions.
