Kathmandu — The upcoming Nepali film Sarathi, marking the directorial debut of Kumar Gajurel, has officially commenced production with a ceremonial launch.
The muhurat ceremony was held at Bhadra Kali Temple on Monday, after which the production team departed for Gurja Khani for filming. According to the director, shooting is scheduled to begin on Wednesday and will continue for approximately 40 days across scenic locations in the region.
Veteran editor Tara Thapa makes his debut as a producer with the film, bringing nearly three decades of experience in Nepali cinema.
Produced under Kimbhe Production in collaboration with Dhiraj Infinity Films, the film will feature the much-anticipated on-screen reunion of Uttam Pradhan and Niruta Singh after nearly 20 years.
Several senior film personalities, including Laxminath Sharma and Prakash Sayami, attended the launch event as special guests.
The film also stars Mukunda Shrestha, Samranta Thapa, Giri Bishwokarma, Gayatri Joshi, and others. With a strong cast and experienced crew, the production team aims to deliver a compelling cinematic experience.
