Kathmandu — The globally renowned dance competition World of Dance has officially announced its Nepali edition, World of Dance Nepal 2026, marking the launch of its second season.

Originally founded in 2008 in Southern California, the platform has expanded to over 50 countries. Organizers say the Nepal edition aims to provide local dancers with a pathway to the global stage.

Indian choreographer Terence Lewis has been unveiled as the celebrity grand judge. He is widely known for his roles in reality shows such as Dance India Dance and India’s Best Dancer.

The judging panel also includes Nepali dance figure Kiran Thapa and artistic director JD Tamu.

According to national director Roshan Gahtoraj, the initiative is designed to elevate Nepali dancers onto an international platform. The competition will emphasize indigenous culture while remaining open to international participants.

The US Embassy Nepal has also expressed support, highlighting the event as an opportunity for cultural exchange and global exposure.

Auditions will be held across five cities, with the semi-finals scheduled for June 4 and the grand finale on June 6. Winners in each category will receive cash prizes, gold-plated trophies, and a chance to represent Nepal internationally.
