Kathmandu — The Nepali film Lalibazar has entered the spotlight after its trailer climbed to the No. 2 position on movie charts, following strong audience engagement and positive reviews.
Released on April 4, the trailer quickly trended on YouTube and has continued to gain attention across social media platforms, with viewers praising its story and performances.
Actress Swastima Khadka has received widespread acclaim for her portrayal of a woman from the Badi community. The film’s trailer highlights an emotional mother-daughter storyline and addresses social issues, including traditional practices within the community.
The cast also includes Ravindra Singh Baniya, child artist Samaira Thapa, and debut performers Prashamsa Suvedi and Vishal Devkota, all of whom have received positive responses.
Produced under Shatkon Arts, the team has previously delivered successful films such as Jatra, Jatrai Jatra, Mahapurush and Mahajatra.
Directed by Yam Thapa, the screenplay and dialogue were jointly written by Thapa and Pradeep Bhattarai.
Filming took place in Rajapur, Bardiya, with a release scheduled for Baisakh 18, 2083 BS.
