Kathmandu — Film Journalists Association Nepal has re-elected Samir Balami as its president for a second term.
Balami secured 95 votes, defeating his closest rival Jeevan Kumar Parajuli at the 27th Annual General Meeting and 10th National Convention held in Kathmandu on Saturday.
Raghunath Sapkota was elected vice president with 73 votes, while Kumar Acharya was elected unopposed as programme vice president. Deepjyoti Thapa was elected women’s vice president with 75 votes.
In the general secretary race, Gopikrishna Chapagain won with 54 votes in a four-candidate contest.
Madan Rijal was elected open secretary with 94 votes out of 140 cast, while Mohammad Jalim was elected unopposed as inclusive secretary.
Manish Anjan (Dahal) was elected treasurer with 74 votes, and Arjun Gurung was elected co-treasurer with 62 votes.
Eight members were elected unopposed, while the association is also expected to nominate additional members as per its statute.
