Nepali actress Priyanka Karki has stated that Sudan Gurung, who resigned on ethical grounds, was forced to step down due to media trial despite doing good work. She expressed this view through Facebook.
In this context, actress Karki wrote, “People who consistently do good work have to go through many trials by fire; history has shown this time and again.”
She mentioned that it is clearly seen that media trial created pressure, and even in such difficult times, choosing ethics over position is a matter of great courage.
Furthermore, Karki emphasized that the allegations against Sudan Gurung should be investigated fairly and in depth, expressing confidence that the truth will come out. She also expressed her belief that Gurung will return even stronger, noting that Nepal is yet to witness the full extent of his capacity, vision, and potential.
At the end of her status, she conveyed the message, “I hope you return even stronger, because Nepal needs you,” expressing her support and confidence in Sudan Gurung.
Currently, Sudan Gurung has resigned from his position on ethical grounds, which has sparked widespread debate in social and political circles.
