The dark comedy film “Zero Degree” has officially completed its shooting. Produced under the Meghauli Films banner, the film wrapped up on Monday with its final scene shot in Dhital village of Kaski.
The production team had initially planned a 35-day schedule, starting filming from Armalakot Temple in Pokhara. However, due to challenging weather conditions, the shoot extended to 37 days. The film was shot across scenic and authentic locations around Pokhara, including Armalakot, Dhital, Gharmi, and Bagar.
Despite continuous rainfall throughout the schedule, the team pushed forward without halting production. In the final phase, they even filmed continuously for up to 30 hours, according to director Aakas Baral. He shared that despite the odds, the set remained energetic and full of laughter. “If we can bring that same joy to the audience, we will consider ourselves successful,” he said.
Co-directed and written by Sajan Kafle and Aakas Baral, the film features actor Vijay Baral in a completely new and unseen avatar, although details about his role remain undisclosed.
The story revolves around a remote village where, after the death of parents, a deadbody is preserved using a deep freezer until their children return from abroad—leading to a series of chaotic and humorous events. The satirical song “Are Ho Netaji” from the film has already been released.
Alongside Vijay Baral, the film stars Prakash Ghimire, Rajan Bhusal, Sanisha Bhattarai, Basundhara Bhusal, Ramesh Budhathoki, and others. The film is executively produced by Moti Karki and shot by Nishal Paudel.
Editing is handled by Chanas Pun Magar, color grading by Rajendra Moktan, music by Ankit Babu Adhikari, and lyrics by Yuvraj Kafle. The film will be distributed by Kuber Cine Distribution outside Kathmandu Valley and DCN within the valley, with a planned release before Dashain this year.
