Kathmandu — The upcoming Nepali film Akshara officially commenced production on Friday with a script worship ceremony held at Guhyeshwari Temple.
The auspicious launch ceremony featured cinematography by Dinesh Mahara, while Shankar Maharjan handled the roll and Madhusudan Bhattarai gave the action cut. Clapping was done by Love Pakurel and the ceremonial coconut was broken by Deepak Dangal.
The film stars Sushil Sitoula, Nancy Khadka, Sushil Pokharel, Pushkar Raut, Rista Adhikari, Anshu Maharjan, Gita Adhikari, Birendra Kushwaha and Srijana Adhikari. Child artists Ronak Khadka and Prisa Dhungana will also appear in the film.
Produced under the banner of Kshit Babu Production House, the film marks the directorial debut of Binay Raj Poudel, who previously worked as an assistant director in numerous Nepali films.
Lyrics are written by Surendra Rana, with music composed by Karnaraj Giri. Choreography will be handled by Ramji Lamichhane, while action direction is by Shankar Maharjan.
Makeup is led by Madan Neupane, costume design by Prarthana Bhattarai and cinematography by Dipen Basnyat. Suman Kafle serves as production manager, while poster design is done by Rakesh Dahal.
The film will be distributed by National Cine Group Nepal Pvt. Ltd. through Deepak Dangal. Diwas Bohara is the chief assistant director, assisted by Manoj Bohora. Editing will be handled by Gautamraj Khadka.
Executive producer of the film is Suraj Thapakaji, while Ugrasen Dhungana and Sugrasen Dhungana are the producers. The screenplay and dialogues are written by Abhimanyu Nirabi.
