Kathmandu. Actress Rekha Thapa has announced her new film Kaukuti, following a special religious ceremony at Kainchi Dham in Uttarakhand, India. The announcement was made on Tuesday after the ritual performed on Monday evening.
The project will be the eighth production under Rekha Thapa’s banner.
The film will be directed by Shraddha Prasai, known for the comedy show Comedy Darbar. She has previously directed the upcoming film Kakakiki, which is yet to be released.
Rekha Thapa will play the lead role, while the production team is planning to introduce a new male lead actor.
The story is written by Vicky Agrawal and Vinesh Rai, with Rai also handling the screenplay.
The film is being financed by Balram Shahi Thakuri and Navraj Shrestha. Shahi is also Rekha Thapa’s husband.
Shooting is expected to begin in October (Asoj). The music will be composed by Prashant Siva Koti, and a song will be performed by rapper Lil Jhola (Aakash Kshetri).
