Kathmandu. The upcoming Nepali film Tika: Stateless Soul, produced under Bhavishya Films Pvt. Ltd., has officially announced its release date. The women-centric film will hit theatres nationwide on Bhadra 26, coinciding with the Teej festival.

The film has signed a distribution and screening agreement with Shriram Balaji Films, headed by Sunil Manandhar, finalising its official release plan.

The production team states that the film will explore themes of women’s struggle, self-respect, identity, and self-reliance.

The film stars Mahesh Tripathi, Richa Sharma, Barsha Siwakoti, and veteran comedian Nirmal Sharma in key roles.

Directed by Shankar Karki, the film is currently preparing to go on floors from the third week of Baisakh. The workshop phase has been completed, and the team is finalising the script and locking locations.

The film is produced by Bhavishya Khadka, who previously produced the hit film Jerry on Top. The screenplay is written by Bishwas Timsina (BT Kaancha), marking his second collaboration with Khadka after Jerry on Top.

Music for the film is composed by Kali Prasad Baskota, while Tej Bikram KC serves as executive producer.

The makers say Tika will portray a strong social narrative highlighting women’s strength, struggles, and independence.
