Kathmandu — The distribution rights for upcoming Nepali film Aa Bata Aama 2, starring Paul Shah, have already been sold in the United States and Canada even before filming begins. The production team confirmed that the overseas deal was finalized shortly after the film’s official announcement.
According to the filmmakers, Doko Films acquired the USA and Canada rights for what is being described as one of the highest overseas deals in Nepali film history. Interest from international distributors has reportedly surged despite the film not yet entering production.
The cast currently includes Paul Shah, Bipana Thapa, Aasha Shrestha, Pradeep Rawat, Gajit Bista, and Naren Khadka. The remaining cast members, including the female leads, are yet to be finalized.
The first installment, Aa Bata Aama, had achieved significant commercial success and popularity in Nepal, which has fueled strong anticipation for the sequel among overseas distributors.
Director and producer Chandra Pant confirmed that the USA and Canada rights have already been sold and revealed that negotiations are ongoing for several other international territories.
He also stated that the shooting schedule will be finalized soon, while casting and technical preparations are currently underway before the film officially goes on floors.
Scheduled for release on Ashoj 30 during the Dashain festive season, Aa Bata Aama 2 is written and directed by Chandra Pant. Distribution rights in Nepal have been secured by RR Films, while digital rights have already been acquired by OSR.
The film will be produced under the banner of Aarya Entertainment Pvt. Ltd., with Karansingh Rasali serving as production manager.
