‘TIKA: Stateless Soul’ Officially Launched, Priyanka and Barsha Team Up for Women-Centered Drama

Kathmandu — The official launch ceremony of the upcoming Nepali film TIKA: Stateless Soul has been completed. The film, being produced under the banners of Bhavishya Films Pvt. Ltd. and Third Eye Arts, held its muhurat ceremony at Baglamukhi Temple in Patan on Thursday.

The event featured script, camera, and clapboard worship in the presence of the production team, cast, and crew members. The film is scheduled for release on Bhadra 26 during the Teej festival and is set to begin shooting this week.

Producer Bhavishya Khadka said the film focuses on the serious struggles and discrimination faced by women in society. Khadka, who also produced the blockbuster Jerry on Top, shared that the experience gained from her previous projects inspired her to make TIKA: Stateless Soul.

Directed by Shankar Karki, the film is being presented as a women-centric social drama. The cast includes Priyanka Karki, Barsha Siwakoti, Mahesh Tripathi, Nirmal Sharma, Parbati Adhikari, and Ayushi Dhakal.

The story has been written by Shankar Karki and Chandan Jha, while the screenplay is by Biswas Timsina, also known as B.T. Kanchha.

Speaking at the event, actress Priyanka Karki described the project as one of the most special films of her career, saying the story presents a subject rarely explored in Nepali cinema. Actress Barsha Siwakoti also expressed excitement about collaborating with the team and cast.
