The election atmosphere inside Nepal Film Directors Society has intensified as the organization prepares for its 18th annual general assembly and leadership election.
Amid the growing buzz, presidential candidate Arun Kumar Pradhan and his panel, popularly introduced as “Team Arun,” have officially accelerated their campaign with a strong set of commitments and future plans.
Carrying the slogan “Empowered Directors, Prosperous Nepali Cinema,” the team has pledged to build a more organized, digital and responsible directors’ society.
The panel says it is committed to protecting directors’ dignity while contributing to the revival, promotion and preservation of Nepal’s film industry. It has also promised to establish a professional, transparent and internationally recognized directors’ organization.
Promoting ideas such as “A Shared Campaign of Unity, Respect and Creativity” and “New Vision, New Speed, New Directors’ Society,” Team Arun has also vowed to play a strong and responsible role in shaping a director-friendly film bill in the future.
Alongside Arun Kumar Pradhan for president, the panel includes Samudra Bhatt for general secretary, Shubhash Gajurel for senior vice president, Dipak Woli for vice president, Raj Bahadur Sane for secretary, Utsav KC for treasurer and Bhim Tamang for assistant treasurer.
For executive member positions, Laxman Sunar, Yam Sherpa and Sagar Kerung are contesting.
Team Arun says its candidacy is focused on making the Nepali film industry more creative, organized and powerful in the coming years.
