The shooting of upcoming Nepali film ‘Jalaki’, directed by Ashok Thapa Magar, has officially wrapped up after 39 days of filming. The production team completed the final shoot at Pokhara International Museum with an emotional climax sequence.

According to the makers, a song sequence featuring the lead cast was filmed in Pokhara last Saturday. With production now completed, the film has entered post-production. Director Ashok Thapa Magar revealed that the first-look poster and official release date will be announced soon.

The film stars Upasana Singh Thakuri in the lead role, marking her second collaboration with the director after the successful film ‘Khusma’. Upasana had won the National Film Award for Best Actress for her performance in that movie, and she is said to be equally excited about ‘Jalaki’.

Based on a triangular love story, the film also features Sonam Topden, Shilpa Maskey, Maotse Gurung, Buddhiman Tamang, Astitwa Bhattachan, and Sahara Hangma Limbu among others. Former Miss Sikkim Sahara Hangma Limbu is making her Nepali film debut through the project.

The title ‘Jalaki’ refers to a culturally significant stone pillar symbolizing love, memory, and faith in the Magar community. The film highlights the traditions and lifestyle of the Magar and Gurung communities, with shooting carried out across Rukum, Rolpa, Myagdi, Baglung, and Pokhara.

Produced under the banner of M Media Pvt. Ltd., the film carries strong expectations following the success of director Ashok Thapa Magar’s debut film ‘Khusma’. Its hit song ‘Rukum Maikot’ created history by crossing 100 million views on YouTube within five months.
