Upcoming Nepali film ‘Kaji’, set to release on May 21 (Jestha 8), has been creating strong buzz among audiences following the release of its trailer and songs. Amid the growing excitement, lead actor Bipin Karki has opened up about the film’s story, his character, and his acting experience.
According to Bipin, ‘Kaji’ presents a unique style of love story unlike his previous films. He revealed that the project initially had a different storyline before the production team returned with a completely revised script.
“We were originally planning to move forward with another story,” Bipin shared. “Later, the team came back with a new narrative. The current version has a completely different flavor, and I personally loved it.”
The actor explained that the film explores love not through grand romantic dialogues alone, but through everyday behavior, understanding, sacrifice, and companionship between husband and wife.
“Love exists even in the smallest gestures,” he said. “The film beautifully captures the idea of finding happiness in your partner’s happiness. I believe audiences will say, ‘This is what true love between Kaji and Kajini looks like.’”
Bipin also mentioned that being a married man himself helped him emotionally connect with the role. He described the character as someone deeply in love and detached from the outside world, making it both a fresh and challenging experience for him.
Directed by Laxman Rijal, the film also stars Keki Adhikari, Garima Sharma, Prakash Ghimire, Hemant Budhathoki, and Bishal Pahari among others.
The film is based on a story by Pradeep Bhardwaj and produced under the banner of Rijal & Rijal Production. With viral songs like ‘Wari Bar Pari Pipalu’ already trending on TikTok, the makers believe ‘Kaji’ will offer audiences a refreshing cinematic experience different from mainstream Nepali films.
