Nepali feature film ‘Mitjyu’ has officially opened nationwide advance ticket booking after receiving a Universal Certificate from the Central Film Censor Board. Set for release this Friday, the film has already secured 28 shows across 11 cinema halls nationwide by Wednesday morning, marking a strong opening response.
Produced under the banner of GM Movies Production, ‘Mitjyu’ is produced by Janak Gharti Magar and directed by Anil Budhamagar. Based on a socially rooted rural story, the film has reportedly received encouraging support from cinema halls ahead of its release.
Advance booking has opened in several theaters, including Fcube Chabahil, INI Cinemas branches in Butwal, New Baneshwor, and Simara, along with Lotse Mall, Bishwojyoti, and theaters in Dang, Banepa, and Kapilvastu.
Director Anil Budhamagar recalled the complications faced during the censor process of his previous film ‘Gharjwai’, stating that the entire production team is delighted to receive the Universal Certificate smoothly this time.
The film stars Dayahang Rai and Saugat Malla in lead roles. Popular dancer Teriya Magar is making her acting debut through the film. The cast also includes Pushkar Gurung, Shishir Wangdel, and Raj Thapa.
‘Mitjyu’ features cinematography by Shishir Bishankhe and editing by Lokesh Bajracharya. The music is composed by Shreekrishna Bam Malla, while singers Melina Rai and Laxmi Malla have lent their voices to the soundtrack.
Songs from the film, including ‘Gairaghare Kaili’ and ‘Bhunbhun Mahuri’, are currently trending on TikTok and YouTube. RR Films is handling the film’s distribution, while OSR Digital has acquired its digital rights.
