KIST Teaching Hospital and Medanta Gurugram Strengthen Collaboration in Cancer Care; Expert Interaction Program Held

Kathmandu — KIST Teaching Hospital has highlighted its commitment to delivering comprehensive cancer care through advanced technology, an experienced team of specialists, and a multidisciplinary treatment approach. The hospital’s oncology services are led by Prof. Dr. Bishnu Dutta Paudel, Head of the Department of Oncology.

The hospital provides diagnosis, surgical intervention, and treatment for a wide range of cancers affecting various parts of the body through a dedicated team of cancer surgeons, medical oncologists, hematology-oncology specialists, and other experienced healthcare professionals.

In collaboration with Medanta Gurugram, India, the KIST Cancer Center has also been offering second-opinion and teleconsultation services through telemedicine. According to the hospital, this partnership has significantly enhanced access to international-standard oncology expertise for cancer patients in Nepal.

As part of the collaboration, renowned oncologist Dr. Satya Pal Kataria from Medanta Gurugram participated as a distinguished guest speaker. The hospital successfully organized two major academic and clinical programs during his visit.

The events witnessed active participation from specialist physicians of KIST Teaching Hospital, as well as senior doctors and healthcare experts from various hospitals and medical institutions. Discussions focused on the latest advancements in cancer treatment, multidisciplinary management of complex cancer cases, and opportunities for international collaboration in oncology care.

KIST Teaching Hospital reaffirmed its commitment to expanding international partnerships, strengthening specialist services, and providing high-quality cancer treatment within Nepal through modern and innovative healthcare systems.
