Kathmandu — Nepali feature film Jor Dhunga, written and directed by Yugal Pomo, is set to premiere in Hong Kong. Ahead of its grand premiere, the film’s first-look poster was unveiled during a special event held on May 30.
During the program, organizers announced that the film will have its grand premiere on August 30, 2026, at Sunbeam Cinema Hall in Hung Hom, Whampoa, Hong Kong.
Shot in the scenic locations around Niguraden in Taplejung, Jor Dhunga is based on the Limbu community and culture. The film features local-language dialogues with English subtitles.
Produced under the banner of YK Films in collaboration with Genex Media and Shahasi Digital, the film is produced by Hong Kong-based Ramesh Limbu, Roman Lawati and Yogesh Lama, while US-based Harry Yonjan serves as the executive producer.
The cast includes Pratik Thebe Limbu, Mausam Imbung (popularly known as Phulendeko Bau), Pushpanjali Tilling, Yogesh Lama, Hardik Paudel, Siddhartha Limbu, Bishnu Rai and Madankumari Pomu Limbu in lead roles.
The film’s songs and dialogues have been written by Surendra Rana, while Anil Thopra serves as the production controller. Editing has been handled by Anil Kumar Maharjan, and cinematography by Mohan Kumar Jhillu.
Other key crew members include Dinesh Mangmu as production designer, Nishchal Kulung as art director, Rajendra Moktan as colorist, Janu Ale as makeup artist, and Maheshwar Sambahangphe as chief assistant director.
