The makers of the upcoming Nepali film Gauthali have released its song “Aankha Bhari Aansu” in Kathmandu, unveiling it through a highly theatrical wedding-themed event.

The launch ceremony on Thursday transformed the venue into a ceremonial wedding setup, complete with traditional processions, musical bands, and performers dressed as bride, groom, and wedding guests. Despite the festive atmosphere, the organizers clarified that it was a promotional event for the film’s song, not an actual wedding.

The song features vocals by Thaneshwor Gautam and Shanti Shree Pariyar, with music composed by Gautam himself. The lyrics are written by Dr. Bhola Rijal.

In the music video, lead actors Arun Chhetri and Simran Khadka appear as bride and groom, mirroring their on-stage wedding attire during the launch event, which drew significant public attention.

The song portrays the emotional hardship of a daughter leaving her parental home after marriage, highlighting themes of separation, cultural tradition, and emotional sacrifice embedded in Nepali social customs.

Directed by Dr. Kapil Rizal, the film is scheduled for release on Shrawan 1. The production team describes “Gauthali” as a symbolic representation of home, family bonds, and emotional closeness.

The film features an ensemble cast including Madan Krishna Shrestha, Prakash Ghimire, Lunibha Tuladhar, and Rabindra Jha, along with child actors Anshu Oli and Prince Nepali.

The story is written by Dr. Bhola Rijal, with screenplay collaboration from Kapil Rizal, Nishchal Kunwar, Niraj Nepal, and Giriraj Ghimire.
