Kathmandu: The filming of the Teej-themed song “Nachau Na Bari Lai” from the upcoming Nepali film “Akshara”, directed by debut filmmaker Binay Raj Poudel, has been completed.
The song was shot on Monday at the Uttarbahini Temple in Gokarna, Kathmandu. To capture the festive spirit of Teej, the temple premises were specially decorated for the production.
The song features vocals by popular singer Samikshya Adhikari, with music composed by Karna Raj Giri and lyrics penned by Surendra Rana. Recorded at Studio Taas, the track’s arrangement, mixing and mastering were handled by Bijeshwar Raj Tandukar.
Actors Rista Basnet, Nancy Khadka and Sushil Sitaula, who play key roles in the film, are featured in the music video. The choreography was directed by renowned choreographer Ramji Lamichhane.
Produced under the banner of Kshit Babu Production House, “Akshara” is scheduled for nationwide release on Bhadra 26. The film stars Sushil Sitaula, Nancy Khadka, Sushil Pokharel, Pushkar Raut, Rista Adhikari, Anshu Maharjan, Gita Adhikari, Birendra Kushwaha and Srijana Adhikari in lead roles. Child actors Ronak Khadka and Prisa Dhungana are also part of the cast.
Suraj Thapakaji serves as the executive producer, while Ugrasen Dhungana and Sugrasen Dhungana are the producers. The film is based on a screenplay and dialogues written by Abhimanyu Nirabi, with lyrics by Surendra Rana and music by Karna Raj Giri.
Cinematography is handled by Dipen Basnyat, while Ramji Lamichhane serves as choreographer and Shankar Maharjan as action director. The production team also includes Madan Neupane (makeup), Prarthana Bhattarai (costume design) and Suman Kafle (production management).
The film’s poster has been designed by Rakesh Dahal, and distribution will be managed by Deepak Dangal through National Cine Group Nepal. Dibas Bohara is the chief assistant director, while Manoj Bohara serves as assistant director.
After working as an assistant director on dozens of Nepali films, Binay Raj Poudel is making his directorial debut with “Akshara.”
