Kathmandu: As the release date of the upcoming Nepali film “Ba: Ek Yoddha” approaches, audiences are increasingly curious about one major question: Who is playing the film’s central character, the father figure known as “Ba”?
Scheduled for release on Bhadra 19, the film explores the sacrifices, struggles and lifelong dedication of fathers who work tirelessly to secure a better future for their children. The emotionally driven storyline places the father character at the heart of the narrative.
While the production team has gradually revealed several cast members, it has intentionally kept the identity of the lead character under wraps. Recently, actors Sagar Khanal, Shishir Siwakoti, Supriya Sharma and Shavi Thapa were introduced to the public. Earlier, Jharana Thapa, Suhana Thapa and Divyadev Pant had also been announced as part of the cast.
Although filming has already wrapped and post-production work is underway, the actor portraying the pivotal role of “Ba” remains undisclosed.
Director Hari Lamsal said the team plans to reveal additional details about the film in phases. “We will continue sharing information about the film gradually. The identity of the actor playing ‘Ba’ will also be announced at the right time,” he said.
Written and directed by Hari Lamsal, “Ba: Ek Yoddha” is set to hit theaters on the eve of Kushe Aunsi, Nepal’s Father’s Day, aligning the release date with the film’s central theme.
Widely known for composing numerous iconic Nepali songs, Lamsal is making his feature film directorial debut with the project. Produced under the Artistic Entertainment banner, the film’s story and screenplay have also been written by Lamsal himself.
The film is produced by Basanta Lamsal, a singer and creator who previously produced the Bipin Karki-starrer “Karma.”
Featuring cinematography by Shivaram Shrestha, the film has Taranath Neupane as chief assistant director. “Ba: Ek Yoddha” will be distributed nationwide by Kuber Cine Distribution, led by Ashish H. Tamang and Pradeep Dhami.
