Filming of ‘Captain Saab’ Completed

Kathmandu: The filming of the upcoming Nepali film “Captain Saab”, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Dipendra K. Khanal, has officially wrapped up. The production team completed shooting in two phases, with the final schedule concluding on Wednesday.

The first phase of filming began on August 10 last year, while the second phase was completed two weeks ago. The movie was shot across Kavre, Kathmandu and Birgunj.

“Captain Saab” is a biographical film based on the life of Captain Rameshwor Thapa, a pilot, entrepreneur and media investor. The film is expected to portray his personal struggles, achievements and professional journey.

Produced under the banners of Pathkatha Production, Yarsa Studio and Rich Entertainment, the film stars Khagendra Lamichhane, Surakshya Panta and Sanjog Rasaili in lead roles.

Director Dipendra K. Khanal had previously cast Khagendra Lamichhane and Surakshya Panta in the critically acclaimed film “Dhanapati.” “Captain Saab” marks the second collaboration between the trio, while Khanal and Lamichhane have worked together on multiple projects over the years.

The film is jointly produced by Dipendra K. Khanal and Karan Shrestha, with Sirjana Napit serving as executive producer.

Written by Khanal himself, the film’s technical team includes Saugat Basnet as chief assistant director, Samrat Basnet as action director, Eki Thekpa as production designer, Rohit Raj Gautam as HOD and Bishnu Budhathoki as production manager.

With filming now complete, the production team has shifted its focus to post-production. The official release date is yet to be announced.
