Kathmandu – The release date of actor Jitu Nepal’s upcoming Nepali film Karki Saila has been officially rescheduled. The production team unveiled a new official poster on Wednesday, announcing that the film will now hit theaters on September 18 (Asoj 2).
The film was originally scheduled to release on July 17 (Shrawan 1). However, following discussions with distributors, the release has been postponed to Asoj 2.
The newly released poster features Jitu Nepal and actress Priyana Acharya (Munni) in a romantic pose, hinting at a love story. However, the filmmakers have stated that the film’s core storyline will be revealed through its teaser, trailer, or upon its theatrical release.
As suggested by its title, Karki Saila revolves around the life and struggles of a porter. The film was shot across scenic locations in eastern Nepal, including Dhankuta, Barahakshetra in Sunsari, and Chatara.
Directed by Rajendra Basnet, the film also stars Sushil Pokharel, Birendra Singh Kushwaha, Manshi Sharma, Manil Tamang, Renuka Acharya, Dipson Limbu, Roda Rai, and Kamal Devkota.
Produced under the banner of Karnabahadur Films Pvt. Ltd., the film is produced by Bal Kumar Rai, while Krishna Bhagat Chamling serves as the presenter. Ananta Rai is the executive producer.
The screenplay is written by Sabin Adhikari and Shankar Dhital, with Rozal Thapa serving as the chief assistant director. The film features cinematography by Dambar Rai, action direction by Kiran Dahal, music by Dipson Limbu, and production management by C.B. Bhandari.
For theatrical distribution, Govinda Shahi of Kafiya Films will handle the Kathmandu Valley market, while Kuber Films will distribute the film outside the valley.
