Kathmandu – Actor Anil Budhathoki has been confirmed as one of the lead actors in the upcoming Nepali film Ba: Ek Yoddha. The production team revealed his casting as part of its ongoing announcement of the film’s ensemble cast.
Anil made his acting debut with Karma, where he impressed audiences in the second lead role alongside Bipin Karki. Although his performance received praise, the film did not perform as expected at the box office, limiting its reach among viewers.
Ba: Ek Yoddha marks Anil’s second feature film, and the actor says he hopes to build on the experience of his debut.
“I received a lot of love from audiences through my first film, and I hope to receive the same with this one. I have worked to improve on the shortcomings of my debut and deliver an even stronger performance,” Anil said.
Written and directed by Hari Lamsal, Ba: Ek Yoddha is scheduled for release on August 21 (Bhadra 19), on the eve of Kushe Aunsi (Father’s Day) in Nepal. The film tells the emotional story of a father’s sacrifices, struggles, and lifelong challenges in securing a better future for his children.
The cast also includes Divyadev Pant, Jharana Thapa, Suhana Thapa, Sagar Khanal, Shishir Siwakoti, Supragya Sharma, and Shavi Thapa.
Renowned as a composer, lyricist, and singer behind numerous timeless Nepali songs, Hari Lamsal makes his feature directorial debut with Ba: Ek Yoddha. Produced under the banner of Artistic Entertainment, the film’s story and screenplay have also been written by Lamsal.
The film is produced by Basant Lamsal, who previously produced Karma starring Bipin Karki.
The cinematography is by Shivaram Shrestha, with Taranath Neupane serving as the chief assistant director. The film will be distributed by Kuber Cine Distribution, led by Ashish H. Tamang and Pradeep Dhami.
